Identify Your Tiles
Ceramic tiles are softer, while Porcelain is extremely hard. Use carbide-tipped bits for ceramic and diamond-tipped bits for porcelain.
The Masking Tape Trick
Place masking tape over the drill point. This prevents the bit from slipping and scratching your bathroom or kitchen tiles.
Heat Management
Drill slowly and dip the bit in water frequently to prevent overheating, which is the leading cause of tile cracks during installation.
